Anyone know where to find the kinds of boxes used in HP SS, specifically in Ollivanders shop?

I'm getting a wand for my son for Christmas, it's a really nice one, but it doesn't come with a box. My son very much wants the whole 9 years, box and all. He's a stickler for detail.
He wanted a wand made of Hawthorn, (his proper "celtic birth tree/wood) the one wood that Alivans doesn't use, so I bought it from gildedquill.net instead. They do beautiful work with real hardwoods.
They don't use boxes, however, and Alivans doesn't sell their boxes separately, so I'm on the hunt.

I've looked at necktie boxes, floral boxes, and wine bottle boxes, but nothing is quite right. I also found a good DIY wand box project at dadcando.com, but I'd rather not make my own, and besides, covering the box in paper doesn't seem like a very robust way to go about it - but I'll keep it in mind as a last resort, if I have to.

Any pointers would be much appreciated!
Thanks

Grimmy - I bought an Alivan's wand last year. Let me see if I can find the box. If I can, it's yours. I'll just need to get your mailing addy.

If there is an antique mall local to Grymmditch manor, try looking for a glove box or a fan box. Good luck! cheering

Thanks all,

I really appreciate the help, offer, and ideas.

I'm not sure how common fan boxes are but a glove box might just be the ticket..

My wife might've found something today , but I haven't seen it yet.
I'll post back when I find out.

Did you find a suitable box for the wand?

It's too late I know, but there are some very interesting chop stick boxes to be found online and at Asian groceries and kitchenware shops

Oh well, nope - I never found anything quite suitable in time.
The box my wife got was way too big, and opened at the end rather than along the side, ala Ollivanders.

So, we just stuck the wand in my son's stocking, and said it was from Santa. One good thing - the wand came in a neat little black drawstring bag - not the huge ones like Alivans, (which are for wine bottles) but apparently a custom made one that fits the wand perfectly. You could even sew into clothing and make a "holster" out of it, I suppose. It's pretty neat.
My son never said a word about the lack of a box, to my pleasant surprise. He was just so excited to have a genuine Hawthorn wand he didn't care.

Ironically, right after getting the wand, I visited Alivans.com for other goodies, and discovered they're finally making Hawthorn wands. Figures, lol. S'okay though, I kinda prefer the one from Gilded Quill.

I'm glad he loved the wand, box or not!

A friend gave me a replica of Voldemort's wand, but the box is just standard cardboard. Still, the wand lights up, so that's cool. Oh but there's a wandmaker that The Leaky Cauldron uses to award wands to contest winners, http://www.wizardwands.net/ they might also offer boxes, I think their galleries show their custom wands with boxes.

Cool, I love bookmarking wand sites. I didn't see any boxes sold separately, per se, but still a cool site, thanks.
Interestingly, they link to another wandmaker - fortresswands.com.
Two links for the price of one! Wink
