I heard a wondrful rumor that there was, in fact, such a thing as audio book-style fics! Has anyone else come across this? I really dont have as much time or patience as i'd like to sit here and read off a monitor as i'd like, but I'd LOVE to take some fics with me on my iPod! I tried looking for them on a couple sites and on google, but i havent found anything yet. _________________

Spellcast is a Harry Potter Fan Fiction podcast site.
As to audiobooks...
The extremely long and very popular fic A Year Like None Other is partly available as audio files, read by fans of the story.
It's an alternative universe story in which Snape acts as Harry's guardian. I think it's a good story however it is 96 large chapters long and they've only done MP3s for the first 58 chapters. _________________

I realize this thread is ancient, but...
My boyfriend recently got a Kindle 2, and it has a text to speech thing where it will read books aloud. And you can format any text file to read on it, not just e-books you buy from Amazon. So it would be perfect for fanfic. Of course, $359 is a huge amount of money to spend just to have fanfic read to you, but I thought I'd point out that it's sort of possible now. :p It doesn't sound as good as something read by a voice actor, but it's not too robotic sounding. I wish I'd had one back when I read lots of fanfic. _________________
